We began working with a brand with 2 sku’s. OMG identified the brand as one with the willingness and resources to grow, but didn’t necessarily have expertise to deliver on their aspirations.

With our category expertise, we identified “white space” within the category where this brand could add value and consolidate brand messages for Target.   By growing the brand, it created synergies that allowed Target to invest resources into the brand. Today, a significant portion of the assortment is comprised of product opportunities identified by OMG.

Investing in emerging brands

OPPORTUNITY

We identified an emerging brand that was growing at a key benchmark retailer in the category.  With growth in their plans, there was some hesitancy initially to enter into the mass retailer channel of distribution.

WHAT DID OMG DO?

With our knowledge of the category and in particular Target, we helped the brand fully understand the opportunity in partnering with Target versus other potential retail partners.  We also trained them to understand the complexity and what it takes to do business at Target successfully.  These planning discussions took place over a few years prior to launching their first test stores at Target.

OUTCOMES

Both the brand and Target were ready to test.  With a collaborative agreement to start small and build, this ensured the brand was setup for early success while preparing for long term sustainable growth.  With immediate strong performance, this brand has significantly grown each year at Target since the test, and is the fastest growing and one of the most productive brands in the category.

Brick & Mortar To Digital Business Mode

Positioning our partner for future growth.

OPPORTUNITY

We were working with a brand that was ‘brick and mortar’ centric.  They had a lot of success in store with assorted items.  In an omni-channel world, assorted items are unable to be fulfilled, not available for curb side pickup, or with Shipt.

WHAT DID OMG DO?

With our knowledge of the digital business model and replenishment, we worked with our partner and Target to de-assort items.   This required planogram changes, approval for increased sku count, and multiple changes in the supply chain from vendor to Target.

OUTCOMES

With OMG managing the coordination between our partner and Target, we were able to execute the change.   Sales and Digital penetration went up double digits immediately, which positioned our partner for future growth in store fulfilment, Curb side pickup, and Shipt.

Drug Channel Retail Expansion for Developing Brand

Building early momentum and driving further growth for a fast growing category.

OPPORTUNITY

OMG identified a new opportunity and brand in a fast-growing category at Target. OMG led the strategy and execution for launch and developed this brand to be a leader in the category. With success at Target and the exclusivity period ending, OMG identified the Drug Channel as an opportunity for the brand to continue to grow.

WHAT DID OMG DO?

Collaborating with our OMG Target team, our Drug Channel Sales team identified opportunities at CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid, and developed the strategy to launch in those retailers. OMG led the sales, operations, and supply chain discussions and managed a successful launch at all three retailers.   In addition, we helped the brand with product costing, marketing spend expectations, and fixtures and on-shelf marketing assets.

OUTCOMES

With a successful launch and strong sales from the outset, our Drug Channel team worked to build on the early momentum and drive further growth. The brand has become a category mainstay at all three retailers and has consistently delivered year over year success!
